Located in Byron Bay, SUR—UNDER offers daily breathwork and embodiment classes designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional wellbeing, recovery, focus, and deeper self-awareness. Whether you're seeking more energy, better sleep, stress relief, or simply a moment to pause, our classes meet you where you are.
Our approach lives in the space between activation and surrender — between what rises to the surface and what rests beneath it. We combine evidence-informed breathing techniques with movement, fascia release, sound, and meditation to create experiences that feel both grounding and transformative.
This is not about forcing catharsis or pushing past your edges. It is about safety, curiosity, and learning to listen to the wisdom already present within the body. When the nervous system feels supported, clarity returns. Energy moves. Rest becomes possible.
More than a studio, SUR—UNDER is a community. A place to gather, breathe, and remember that we are not meant to do life alone. Here, strangers become familiar faces. Breath becomes ritual. And wellbeing becomes something you practice, not something you chase.

MEET OUR FOUNDER
I spent eight years in a combat role in the Royal Australian Navy.
For a long time, I believed the answer was to push harder.
Work harder.
Train harder.
Be stronger.
Keep moving.
And while those things taught me discipline, resilience and grit, they didn't necessarily teach me how to slow down.
Like many people, I've experienced anxiety, stress, burnout, heartbreak and periods of feeling disconnected from myself.
What I discovered along the way is that life isn't always asking us to do more.
Sometimes it's asking us to pause.
To listen.
To breathe.
Breathwork entered my life during a season when I was looking for something deeper than achievement. Not a quick fix or an escape, but a way to feel more present in my own body and more connected to my own experience.
What started as a personal practice became a passion. Not because breathwork changed who I am.
Because it helped me remember who I was beneath the noise.
SUR—UNDER was born from that experience.
A space where people can take a breath from the demands of everyday life.
A space to regulate the nervous system, reconnect with the body, and be supported by community.
Whether you're navigating stress, chasing a big goal, moving through a life transition, or simply craving a moment to slow down, my hope is that you leave feeling a little more grounded, a little more connected, and a little more yourself.
